Main aim:
To give young people access to condoms and sexual health information, and to increase the acceptability and visibility of condoms in Brighton & Hove.
How does it work?
If you are aged between 13 and 25, you can get a c-card which gives you access to free condoms and sexual health information throughout Brighton & Hove!
If you want a c-card, you can go to any of the c-card outlets in the city (see list on homepage) where you will have a ‘condom consultation’, which basically involves chatting with a trained practitioner about safer sex, contraception use, condom usage, and STIs. You will also be offered a Chlamydia test. Then you will be given a safer sex pack with 6 condoms and one lube, your c-card, and a condom wallet- all for free!!!
Once you have your c-card, all you have to do is show is to you any of the condom outlets across the city, and you will receive 6 more condoms and a lube (no questions asked). You will also have your card signed and dated. After 8 visits (when the card is full) you will have to ‘check in’ with a worker (at any of the condom outlets) and will get re-issued another c-card.
Getting free condoms does not mean you have to have sex, it’s about being prepared and getting clued up about safer sex!
